History Day  
Jr. Surfriders Saige Kerns, Samantha Jacobsen, and Cameron Kalaukoa represented Kailua Intermediate at National History Day in College Park, Maryland this summer.  They qualified for the event by placing in the top spots at Hawaii History Day where Cameron placed first for his paper, The Voting Rights Act of 1965: Ensuring a Voice in Our Democracy and  Saige and Samantha took second place for their website, The Keating-Owen Child Labor Act of 1916.
