Learning Target: I will learn to evaluate a website , use Wikipedia for three purposes and use specific computer skills throughout this project.

How to Find Information in the Library

Open up a Google account (strongly suggested)

Read The 5 W's of website evaluation

Search Wikipedia - Use this source only once in your bibliography. Check the facts in other sources.

Wikipedia is good for:

1. An overview of your topic

2. Finding key words or search terms

3. References

Read articles. Don't just skim.

PARAPHRASING AND ANALYZING

Read Tsai article

1.Unpack the first paragraph by defining words you do not know, exsplain it to someone, then writing it in your own words.
2. Look at the photo in the Tsai article. Describe the people? What are they doing? Why do you think they are doing what they are doing? Around what time period did this happen? How can you tell?

Formative Assessment: On binder paper with your name and period

Read about the second Hawaiian renaissance.

Answer: What is the second Hawaiian renaissance and how did it impact Hawaii?
