Locate information using Encyclopedia Britannica Online - User Name: kailua Password: kailua

Search Wikipedia - for an 1. An overview of your topic 2. Ideas for keywords, and 3. Search the Reference section. You should only use ONE Wikipedia source in your bibliography

Google images - When using Google images, make sure you go to the website where the image came from.

Make sure there are enough resources available before you commit to a topic. Search the KIS library catalog and the Hawaii State Library to see what is available (use GENERAL KEYWORD instead of TITLE BROWSE). I highly recommend applying for a Hawaii State Library card. See Mrs. Nullet if you have a book suggestion for the library collection.

We have a number of Science Fair books in the library and other non-fiction. Book recommendations are welcomed.

CITING SOURCES

MLA Style Guide -

A quick way to create a bibliography is to go to Google Docs and click on Add-Ons in the toolbar. Click on EasyBib Bibliography Creator and slide your cursor over to Manage Bibliography. Click on website button, go to the website and copy the URL (website address) using CTRL C and paste (CTRL V) in your website address. Click on Select. The citation will appear. Repeat with all of your sources. When citing a book, click on Book and enter the book title, check to see you have the correct author. Click on Select. When you are all finished, click on the red box that says Add Bibliography to Doc .

FINDING IMAGES

Go to Google Docs and click on Tools and scroll down to Research. A box will appear on the right. Find the search bar in the research box and scroll down to Images. Search images and select one. Drag the image into your document and Google Research will automatically cite your image with a footnote. All images must be cited in your bibiliography,
